Hellenic College, BC Woods College Forge Partnership for Academic Opportunities

Hellenic College and Boston College’s Woods College of Advancing Studies announce a partnership that provides Hellenic College students with access to new academic opportunities while allowing them to remain rooted in the vibrant Orthodox Christian community on the Hellenic College campus.
Under this agreement, Hellenic College students may complete the school’s Foundations Forward Core Curriculum, grounded in the Orthodox faith and the Hellenic heritage, and then transition to Boston College’s Woods College for the completion of a Bachelor of Arts degree in one of six majors: Criminal and Social Justice, Cybersecurity, Digital Communications, Economics, Information Technology, and Applied Liberal Arts with a Political Science Concentration.
Qualified Hellenic College students will be granted admission into the Woods College BA program through a streamlined process. They will be eligible to seek financial assistance through the Financial Aid Office at Boston College.
This partnership allows students to develop skills and knowledge in high-demand fields to match today’s rapidly evolving professional landscape while maintaining their connection to Hellenic College, with its Orthodox Christian community and nurturing liturgical life.
It also represents the shared commitment by both institutions to foster academic excellence, holistic personal development, and faith-based community engagement.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for students to attend Hellenic College for the Orthodox Christian intellectual and spiritual formation while pursuing new professional interests to launch their careers. This partnership with the Woods College at Boston College strengthens Hellenic College as the educational and spiritual formation center of our Church and advances its mission of preparing men and women for service to Church and society,” says Dr. Demetrios Katos, President of Hellenic College.
“We are delighted to partner with Hellenic College,” said Woods College Dean David Goodman. “Our schools have several commonalities, in offering degrees grounded in faith and the liberal arts, enhanced by a practical focus, and in our emphasis on personal attention to each student. We hope this agreement will enrich both communities’ faith traditions, and look forward to new opportunities for academic and cultural discussions.”
The Woods College of Advancing Studies is one of nine colleges and schools of Boston College, an internationally recognized Jesuit, Catholic university. It offers flexible undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs and non-degree coursework on its beautiful campus in Chestnut Hill and in online and hybrid formats.
